Rakuten Saikyo U-NEXT × Uber One Collab Perks: How Good a Deal Is It Really?

Good morning. It’s まさきん.

The other day, a flyer showed up in my mailbox. It was for a collaboration campaign between Rakuten Saikyo U-NEXT and Uber One. It bundles video streaming with an everyday lifestyle service, and it looked pretty appealing, so I want to share it here.

A while back, I wrote up the bundle perks for Rakuten Denki, Rakuten Hikari and Rakuten Turbo. This one is part of the same family of perks, but this time the focus is on video streaming.

What Is Rakuten Saikyo U-NEXT?

Rakuten Saikyo U-NEXT is a Rakuten Mobile plan with unlimited U-NEXT streaming bundled in. It costs 3,880 yen/month with the family discount applied, or 4,268 yen/month normally.

Here is the number that caught my eye. U-NEXT on its own usually runs about 2,500 to 3,000 yen a month. With that in mind, getting a mobile line bundled in at this price feels like a really good deal.

The flyer also mentioned a survey ranking it No. 1 for the number of titles available to stream unlimited. The depth of the lineup is a big deciding factor when choosing a streaming service. If your household regularly watches dramas and movies, there is a good chance this one service will be all you need.

What the Uber One Collab Campaign Includes

The real point of the flyer was this collaboration campaign. If you are using Rakuten Saikyo U-NEXT for the first time and enter the campaign, you get two perks.

The first is a points reward, currently boosted to a total of 5,000 points. The second is one year of Uber One for free. Normally, it costs 3,998 yen a year including tax.

Uber One is a service that waives delivery fees on Uber Eats. On top of that, you get 10% cashback when you use Uber Taxi. If your household uses Uber Eats regularly, the delivery fees alone add up to quite a bit over time.

What I find interesting is that even if you barely use Uber Eats or taxi-hailing right now, a free year lets you try them out casually. Since you do not have to worry about fees, this could be a good chance to work them into your routine.

We are a two-income household, and weekday evenings always get hectic. So we end up using food delivery a fair amount. I was genuinely grateful for this perk.

If either video streaming or food delivery fits your life, I think it is well worth a try. In particular, households that binge movies and dramas on weekends, and households that order delivery instead of eating out on weeknights, should be able to make full use of both perks.

Laying out the numbers again: you get video streaming at an effectively discounted price, and on top of that, food delivery fees drop to zero for an entire year. Getting all of this from a single sign-up feels like a pretty luxurious bundle.

Even just comparing the numbers, the value is easy to see. Add the 5,000-point reward to the free Uber One membership worth 3,998 yen, and that is roughly 9,000 yen worth of perks in the first year alone. Compare that with the cost of signing up for video streaming and food delivery separately, and the value of getting them as a bundle becomes clear.

If you are not using Rakuten Mobile yet, it might also be worth checking your phone costs with their pricing simulator.

When the Rewards Arrive, and Tips for Getting the Most Out of Them

There are a few things to keep in mind to make sure you actually receive the perks. The points do not arrive right away. They are paid out in installments, starting around the end of the month three months after you meet the conditions.

So the trick is to keep your contract as-is after signing up. If you change plans or cancel partway through the reward period, you become ineligible.

As I mentioned in my earlier post about Rakuten Denki and Rakuten Hikari, the tip for these kinds of “delayed rewards” is always the same. Just keep your contract unchanged until the rewards finish, and you will receive every bit of them.

The flyer also noted that the perks may change without notice. If you are concerned, it is a good idea to check the latest conditions on the official website before signing up.

Other Bundle Perks Worth Knowing

Rakuten Saikyo U-NEXT comes with plenty of other perks besides the collab. International roaming is free up to 2GB each month, and apparently it even works on international flights. That should be a nice bonus for anyone who travels abroad often for work or leisure.

When shopping on Rakuten Ichiba, you get a points multiplier that includes SPU. If your household already shops on Rakuten Ichiba regularly, your points should pile up even faster.

It also includes Pacific League baseball broadcasts and unlimited magazine reading, which is a nice extra for baseball fans and readers. You also get up to 50GB of cloud storage for free, so you can use it as a backup spot for your photos and videos.

Laid out like this, it covers all sorts of areas of daily life in one package: video streaming, food delivery, international roaming, shopping points, entertainment and cloud storage.

Even if each perk looks small on its own, getting them all together makes it feel like a much better deal. Roaming when you travel, a points multiplier when you shop, entertainment on your days off. Before you know it, you will probably be benefiting in all kinds of situations. Rather than looking at each perk individually, thinking about how they work across your whole lifestyle really shows how good this bundle is.

Summary

This collaboration campaign combines a 5,000-point reward with one year of free Uber One. Video streaming and food delivery are both easy services to fit into everyday life. Using the free year to casually try them out seems like a good way to start.

Since the points are paid out in installments starting three months later, keeping your contract unchanged until the rewards finish means you will get the perks in full.

The details I have shared are the conditions listed on the flyer as of July 2026. Campaign details may change without notice, so please check the latest conditions on the official website when you sign up.

In our household, I plan to start with this collab perk. Video streaming and food delivery are both services that blend easily into daily life, so if this caught your interest, be sure to check it out.
